Counseling Services
The Guidance Center provides a listening ear to students and assists them to make decisions and find possible solutions to their problems/concerns. Individual counseling and group counseling is made available to students.
Referred
Students are referred in the Guidance Office for counseling/ behavior/ follow-up. The teacher/instructor who refers the students’ needs to fill up a Referral Slip (see GSC Form No. 02). After filling up the form, students subject for counseling are brought in the Guidance Office to be noted by the Principal/ Dean. The Guidance Counselor could also call the attention of a student who needs to be follow-up/ counsel by filling up a Call Slip (see GSC Form No. 03). Student who conducted misbehaviors and are unwilling to be counsel are to be forwarded in the Dean of Student Affairs. Schedule for counseling depends on the availability of the Guidance Counselor and to the situation at hand. Students referred for misbehavior with another offense are given 3 warnings: 1st warning– calling the attention of the parent/ guardian, 2nd warning– writing a letter of reprimand and 3rd warning– will be forwarded to the DSA for disciplinary action. After every counseling session, the Guidance Counselor writes down the issue/ concern in the Consultation Record (see GSC Form No. 04), Anecdotal Record (see GSC Form No. 05) or Case Study Record (see GSC Form No. 06).
Walked-in
Students walked-in the Guidance Office for counseling/ behavior/ follow-up. These students voluntarily submit themselves for counseling. They can talk out their problems/ concerns with the Guidance Counselor. Schedule for counseling depends on the availability of the Guidance Counselor and to the situation at hand. After every counseling session, the Guidance Counselor writes down the issue/ concern in the Consultation Record (see GSC Form No. 04), Anecdotal Record (see GSC Form No. 05) or Case Study Record (see GSC Form No. 06).
Counselor-Initiated
This is done by the guidance counselor when unexpected concerns arise. Initiating through using the “call slips” (see GSC Form No. 03). Moreover, counselor initiated to call the attention of particular student based on their psychological result. The Guidance Counselor will notify the College Dean; then the respective teacher/ instructor will be informed by the Dean and finally call the attention of the particular student. Thus, it is done through using the “call slips” (see GSC Form No. 03).
