Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT 8)

The test used for the Entrance Examination is the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT 8). It is administered at the Guidance Office- Testing room. In line with the Admission Services, all students are required to take the examination. Upon enrollment, the students are required to pay their testing fee at the Cashier’s before they can take the examination. Upon waiting for the exam result the student are asked to fill up a Student Information Sheet (SIS) Form (refer to I. Admission Services). After filling up the form they are to ask for their Student Number at the Registrar’s Office.

The OLSAT 8 is used specifically to measure abilities related to success in school, testing critical thinking and reasoning skills. The OLSAT is intended to test memory, speed of thought and ability to see relationships and patterns which can be helpful in assessing and providing valuable information in order to enhance insights. Furthermore, it is also one of the most widely used general intelligence tests.

The said test is comprised of 72 items, both verbal and nonverbal questions. The items were divided into two which includes 36 items in both Verbal and Nonverbal categories. An approximate of one hour is required to administer the test:  about 10 minutes to fill in the identification information on the answer document and another 40 minutes for the 72 items on the test itself.

(Note: for Transferees make sure to bring T.O.R or any grade print outs for evaluation.)

16 Personality Factor (16 PF)

(Personality Test)

The 16 PF or the sixteen personality factor questionnaire helps us make informed decisions about an individual’s suitability for a role and possible strategies for managing them effectively.

16 PF are to be taken by all Second year college students. The Guidance Center will post the schedule for the test per college.  This will be a clearance item.
