On September 5, 2024, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with St. Peter’s College – College of Business Administration (SPC-CBA), conducted a transformative workshop focused on “Womenpreneurship” This event, part of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), aimed to empower women in the beneficiary association with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in entrepreneurship.
The workshop centered on teaching the participants essential skills in basic bookkeeping and profit computation. SPC-CBA faculty members guided the women through practical exercises that demonstrated how to track their income and expenses accurately. The discussions emphasized setting financial goals, with a particular focus on achieving a target profit by June 2025. By understanding how to calculate their profits and manage their finances, the participants gained the tools necessary to steer their businesses towards sustainable growth and meet their financial objectives.
The idea of “Womenpreneurship” strongly resonated with the attendees, who left the workshop equipped with both knowledge and a renewed confidence in their ability to contribute to their families’ and communities’ economic growth. The event emphasized the crucial role of women in driving inclusive economic development.
As the day wrapped up, both the DSWD and SPC-CBA reaffirmed their commitment to supporting these women on their entrepreneurial journeys. This partnership will continue to provide resources and guidance, ensuring that the lessons learned during the workshop help the participants build successful and sustainable businesses.
