Bridging Borders: St. Peter’s College & Wahid Hasyim University Collaborate in International Research Conference on Bibliometric Analysis in Engineering

In a significant move toward fostering internationalization in academic research, St. Peter’s College, Iligan City, Philippines, and Wahid Hasyim University, Indonesia, successfully held a Virtual International Conference via Zoom on October 24, 2024 with its theme β€œExploring Research Trends. The conference focused on advancing bibliometric analysis within the engineering field.

The event opened with an invocation from both institutions, followed by the respective national anthems of the Philippines and Indonesia. The welcome remarks and statement of purpose were delivered by Dr. Sri Mulyo Bondan Respati, ST., MT, of Wahid Hasyim University, setting the stage for a day of knowledge exchange and exploration of global research trends.

Messages from key leadersβ€”Mr. Peter Dan Punongbayan, MM, President of St. Peter’s College, and Prof. Dr. KH. Mudzakkir Ali, MA, Rector of Wahid Hasyim Universityβ€”emphasized the significance of this international partnership in pushing the frontiers of research and innovation.
The first keynote speaker, Dr. Indah Hartati, ST., MT, Scientist I and Head of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Wahid Hasyim University, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the importance of bibliometric analysis in chemical engineering research.

Following an open forum, the second session was led by Prof. Carlito B. Tabelin, PhD, Scientist II and Research Director at the College of Engineering and Innovative Technology, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology. Prof. Tabelin’s presentation delved into advanced bibliometric methodologies and their far-reaching implications for technological research, highlighting how data-driven approaches are transforming research practices and innovation in engineering.

This conference serves as a significant milestone in bridging academic boundaries, uniting institutions across borders to explore new trends in engineering research through the lens of bibliometric analysis.
