In celebration of the National Correctional Consciousness Week 2024, St. Peter’s College, through the efforts of the College of Computer Studies, College of Criminology, College of Business Administration, and School of Graduate Studies, conducted a community extension program at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Iligan on October 23, 2024.
The event aimed to extend support and foster a sense of compassion for the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). The participating colleges contributed by distributing food and hygiene kits to the PDLs, providing essential supplies that promote both health and well-being within the facility. In addition to the donations, a lively Zumba session was organized, allowing participants to engage in physical activity that encourages both mental and physical wellness.
A highlight of the program was the inspirational talk delivered by Ms. Alteza Mae Diao, Guidance Designate at St. Peter’s College, titled โStrengthening Resilience for a Positive Future.โ The talk emphasized the importance of cultivating resilience in overcoming lifeโs challenges and fostering hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Through this, St. Peter’s College reaffirms its commitment to making meaningful contributions to society, focusing not only on education but also on creating a lasting impact in the broader community.
