On August 23, 2024, the SPC Quadrangle filled with excitement and anticipation as the Department of Criminology at St. Peter’s College held the Reception Rites for its newly elected set of CSBO (Criminology Student Body Organization) and CORPS officers. This significant event was marked by the theme, “Upholding Justice, Embracing Leadership: Criminology Officers of 2024,” capturing the spirit and vision of these dedicated student leaders.
The event commenced at 8:00 AM, gathering students, faculty, and staff to honor and celebrate the commitment, passion, and leadership of these exceptional individuals. Throughout the morning, the community came together to recognize these newly inducted officers who have stepped up to lead and serve, further strengthening the values that St. Peter’s College holds dear.
In her opening remarks, the Dean of the College of Criminology spoke about the importance of leadership in building a strong community, stating, “Leadership is not just about making decisions or guiding others; it’s about inspiring, serving, and making a positive impact. Each of you has the power to shape the experiences and opportunities available to every student here. Your role is crucial in fostering a culture of integrity, justice, and excellence.”
